I heard the other day
that I needed to pay
for health and wealth and prosperity
live my life served peaches and cream
But then I took a look
and opened a old book
just saw a sandaled man who was a king
yet served the world with such humility
Why do we need a new thing?
we only want Him to please US
just wear a suit and tie
have a wink in His eye
just a really neat guy
But when the truth of His story
is that He left ALL His glory
to work on wood with His hands
travel roads made of sand
be a servant to man
But don't you understand?
It's all about YOU man
what YOU think and wear and drive
and how much money that it takes to feel alive
Instead I see a plan
the Word becoming man
not what I can do for Him for I am weak
but He lives strong and faithfully
