Broad Road
by Peter MacDougall

Album: Broad Road

In God's Word the Bible tells me,
Two roads a man can take,
The narrow road leads to life,
Broad road leads to death.
I was searching for pleasure,
Something to satisfy,
And for a long, long time,
I chose the broad road.

I set out to do what I wanted,
Selfishly, I moved on,
Responsibilities that I didn't want,
And sin sure did abound.
It wasn't long I had hit the bottom,
Shame and sorrow was all that I got,
Because God had given me a will of my own,
I chose the broad road.

THE BROAD ROAD, BROAD ROAD,
THE BROAD ROAD LOOKED BETTER
BACK IN MY YOUNGER DAYS,
AS TIME MOVES ON,
I REALIZE I WAS WRONG,
THIS BROAD ROAD,
AIN'T LOOKING TOO GOOD TODAY.

God, the Father, had watched and waited,
Ready to save me when I would fall,
Doesn't matter how long you're lost in sin,
God will save you when you call,
I confessed my sins to the Master,
I'm walking now in His love,
Thank you Lord for saving me from
The broad road.
