Album: Great Lengths
Lies, that you've spoken, have brought me to my knees
I, walked around, like there was no cure for my disease
But from the bottom I crawled my way out
I saw the fault in all your lies
So unholster your words and aim them right at me
Just cock your tongue and pull the trigger
And when you're finished shooting off your mouth
Just step back and reconsider
You think you can take me
Bring the best you have
You can prepare for war
Cause' I am ironclad
You, were a poison, that tried to infect me
A sick, little virus, but you know my heart still beats
I see the truth, it's so clear, try again my poison friend
So unholster your words and aim them right at me
Just cock your tongue back and pull the trigger
And when you're finished shooting off your mouth
Step back and reconsider
You think you can take me
Bring the best you have
You can prepare for war
Cause' I am ironclad
In its purest form this song goes back to the saying "Sticks and Stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me." Now this phrase is something we are taught as kids so that we may be a little tougher, but this can be applied to our spiritual lives as well. We all have those people in our lives that try to tear us down. They whisper lies, much like the enemy. We have a choice to listen to the lies or we can believe what our father Jesus is saying which is truth. This is a fight song. If God is for us, then who can stand against us?
