Alisha Powell grew up in a musical family and began playing piano and singing at a young age. She moved to Kansas City in 1998, before IHOP-KC began, and served as an intern at the church that IHOP-KC director Mike Bickle was pastoring. She witnessed the formation of the house of prayer as it took place. I knew it was something I would like to do but never dreamed it would actually be a possibility, she reminisces. She is still going strong in the place of prayer, and feels honored to see people set free by the Word of the Lord declared by singers and musicians.
