One With Me

Take, eat, this is my body (Matt. 26:26-28)
Drink, all of you, this is my blood

As the manna fell from heaven (John 6:49-51)
The Word came down, the bread of life
And in the flesh He dwelt among us (John 1:14)
Made lower than the angels for a time (Heb. 2:9)

And as a man needs bread to live
It isn’t all that he should eat
For every word that comes from God (Deut. 8:3)
Is food our spirit needs

Take, eat, this is my body (Matt. 26:26)
The Word of God made flesh for you. (John 1:14)
Read my words, think of the meaning
Feast on the Word, it is truth

When Moses led the people out
And through a wilderness of sin
He struck a rock when there was doubt (Num. 20:11)
And water poured out from within

And as they drank there in the desert (1 Cor. 10:3-4)
So we should seek the rock of Christ
And from His grace we’ll drink forever
The gift of everlasting life (John 4:14)

Drink, all of you, this is my blood (Matt. 26:27)
The new covenant offered up for your sins
Have faith, believe in my promise
And never be thirsty again (John 4:13-14)

Give us this day our daily bread (Matt. 6:11)
The Word of God to fill our souls
And we’ll forgive our debtors (Matt. 6:12)
For You have made us whole

Eat, feast on the Word that is given (Luke 22:19-20)
Drink, have faith in my saving grace
Commune with me, remember me always
And enter the holy place (Heb. 10:19)

Won’t you come and eat (Isaiah 55:1)
Have a drink and never thirst again (John 7:37)
Become one with me this day (John 17:11)
