This is the story of a man
And how he once fell, but came to stand
He knew right, he knew right from wrong (Rom. 2:15, 3:20)

Oh, but, he made mistakes
Oh can you feel his heart break (Psalm 51:17; Rom. 7:19)
And you can see him shake as he cries, as he cries
Oh, Lord

I have sinned, I’m not worthy of You (Matt. 5:3; Luke 18:13; Rom. 7:24)

He supposed the doors were closed (Rev. 8:8)
He didn’t know the truth
But he soon realized that

Pain and ache off he could shake
His guilt the Master’s love did take (Matt. 11:28-30; Heb. 9:14, 10:14)
Rise, awake, sin we forsake (Eph. 5:14; John 8:11)
For our sake the Christ forgave (Rom. 4:7; Eph. 4:32)

This is the story of love (John 3:16)
Of feeling accepted, from above
We know right, we know right from wrong

But, we sin again, over and over again (Rom. 3:10, 23)
And we stop believing that we can be saved, and we cry (Matt. 19:25; Rom. 3:20)
Oh, Lord
