Instrumental
In March of 2007 my wife asked me to write a song for our baby we were expecting. This is the song that was written. Our son was stillborn on July 10th 2007. This was recorded the night before his funeral and played in his honor during the service. Thank you to Grant and the band for including it.
For Gabriel Michael Shurtleff
You don't know me; I don't know who you'll be
I'll just have to wait, I'll just have to wait and see
Maybe you're like your mother or maybe you're like me
Or like your brother or maybe you're all three
We're all waiting, to hold you in our arms
We're all waiting to hear you sing, your new song
Your eyes will see a world, a world we'll never know,
But we'll watch you as you grow
