Album: Hometown Love
Grandma has a cure for everything
From broken hearts to bumble bee stings
Her cooking makes my stomach sing
She knows just what I like
Memories from my childhood days
Are hung with price down her hallways
Remember special days
With a Hallmark and a call
Refrigerator magnets
Kitchen gadgets
Bottomless cookie jar
Front porch gliders
Homemade cider
She loves you just the way you are
I try hard to be my parent's pride and joy
But I'll always be grandma's boy
She gives us love and kindness
Life lessons and sweet tea
I don't call her as often as I should
But she's always there for me
She's a scholar and a gourmet chef
She makes the best fried chicken
Never one piece left
Shoulder when there's no one else
Who could ever understand
Refrigerator magnets
Kitchen gadgets
Bottomless cookie jar
Front porch gliders
Homemade cider
She loves you just the way you are
I try hard to be my parent's pride and joy
But I'll always be grandma's boy
She's a mom with lots of frosting
A soft kiss on my check
An angel always watching
The flower on it family tree
Refrigerator magnets
Kitchen gadgets
Bottomless cookie jar
Front porch gliders
Homemade cider
She loves you just the way you are
I try hard to be my parent's pride and joy
But I'll always be
I'll always be
Yeah, I'll always be grandma's boy
(Spoken) Hey grandma, it's me. I just wanted to call and let you know I'm coming home this weekend. I was wondering if you could cook me up some of that good ol' fried chicken of yours. You would? Well, I could be there about 6 o'clock. But you know with all this I40 west back to Memphis traffic, it could take me near midnight to get there. But I know you'll leave the light on for me, like you always have. Oh, and before I let you go, grandma, I can't forget about dessert. Could you whip me up one of those homemade pecan pies? Mmm, mmm, mmm. I sure do love you grandma. I'm coming home.
