The phrase "melody of lilies" comes from the heading for Psalm 45 - a psalm of the sons of Korah, to a tune, probably well-known at the time, called "lilies", a song of love. We as believers in Jesus Christ are like lilies - small, fragile flowers - simply loving and trusting in our Lord. We might even say that the sum of our Christian life is loving and trusting in the Lord Jesus. At times we, like the writers of Psalm 45, "overflow with a good matter" - that is, with what we have written concerning Jesus Christ, the King.
