Album: Once Upon An Apocalypse
Intro
I see a city of Ruin!
Verse 1
I see a city in Ruin,
And hear weightless prayers in flames.
When the faithless are losing,
Fear turns their arrogance to shame.
The embers resemble glowing petals,
Like flowers bloomed for the Apocalypse.
Its scent is that of burning metal,
And rotting bodies in the darkness.
Remaining souls wear death like perfume,
Pungent aromas linger in the air.
Last rites are read to the exhumed,
For a society that's never cared for prayer.
Chorus
Now they're in RUIN!
From repeating sin.
Their prayers will go unanswered
When Heaven doesn't know where they've been.
RUIN! RUIN! RUIN! RUIN! RUIN! RUIN! RUIN! RUIN!
Verse 2
They mocked the warnings of the prophets,
Called the Scriptures outdated lies.
But even the Pharaoh's crown was shattered,
When He refused to hear their cries.
The Ark was built, the rain still came,
While mockers laughed until they drowned.
They had no eyes to see the flames
That rose from sacred, cursed ground.
They carved their names in temples high,
And laughed at laws they couldn't feel.
But Heaven's justice never sleeps -
And Judgement comes on burning wheels.
Chorus
Now they're in RUIN!
From repeating sin.
Their prayers will go unanswered
When Heaven doesn't know where they've been.
RUIN! RUIN! RUIN! RUIN!
Verse 3
Now they're forgotten -
By Heaven and Hell.
A people that preached,
But could never tell.
Their altars fell silent,
Their statues turned black...
And the Gates of Heaven
Never answered back.
(Final Chorus)
They're all in RUIN,
Their prayers were never heard!
They're all in RUIN,
Now their prayers go unanswered!
They're all in RUIN,
They never prayed before!
They're all in RUIN,
Now they cry out to a Savior they ignored!
Outro - Whispered
Never...
