i can't hide it anymore the shame is burnin in my soul. i've got to fess up while i can it seems i finally understand i spilled the blood of an innocent man.

i placed him on a dogwood cross i drove the nails into his hands i sunk a spear into his side if you wonder why i cry i am the reason that he died.

i could have saved an innocent man but in a bowl of water i washed my hands. lord forgive me for what i've done it seems that i'm the guilty one i caused the death of your only son.

he claimed to be the most high. so i dubbed him king with a crown of thorns. i turned a deaf ear to his moans while i gambled rollin bones i turned my back on the holy throne.
