Album: Stone By Stone
Roses climb the high stone wall in sunlit green.
Thorny branches reaching for the sky
Silhouette soft peddles hide forbidden leaves,
Longing for the touch of gentle skin.
Hope the sunlight lingers here for just a little while.
Bracing for the night that's sure to come.
Bashful flowers open like a hungry heart,
Reaching for the life-blood of the sun
Day to day we reach for what we hope is true
Feeding on the warmth of endless love
With dirty open hands that know not what they do
We are clinging to the wall and as we do
Stone by stone we find our way to You
All around this garden of the fallen flowers,
Thorny lives are groping at the sky
Clawing at the darkness for the daylight hour,
A beacon burning just beyond our reach
And we grow on....
As we climb on....
And we grow on....
As we climb on....
(and we sing)
