And they thought why it's finally over

For three days they waited
Death surely had won
But He went on to do
All that He had begun
He walked into hell
And He threw off the chains
And with laughter, returned
And we saw Him again

He lives!
Oh, death!
Where is thy sting
You cannot surround Him
You can't do a thing

What can you do
Since Jesus lives
To conquer you, yeah

Some think He's a legend
Just a Christmas card face
And His Word is just a tale to amuse them
So they can hear Him offer
His simple gift of grace
And in their hearts, they only abuse Him

Though He's not an actor
Who's playing a part
He wrote the play
Bringing light to the dark
He's there for the asking
If you hear the call
His love will uplift you
If you can't stand the fall
