The Jesus Movement
by The Sunrise

Album: We Have Not Heard

A random farm house in North Marin county.
Communal living space, the first one.
Considered the first community of the fledgling Jesus Movement.
Life was hard work, but it was better than church.
They found a better Way.

They painted houses, and digging up all the ditches,
just to keep the doors open. It was the Lord's work.
They found a better Way.

And local pastors took notice like Chuck Smith from Calvary.
Provided some of the means, and all of the respectability.

And God decided to open the doors through hippies.

The House of Acts served as a model for similar ministries.
Spreading Jesus, spreading Jesus across the United States.
And Lonnie Frisbee spoke up, Keith Green and Larry Norman.
And Christian papers popped up like Right On! Right On!

And God decided to open the doors through hippies.

Those days are here again, happy days are here again.
Spreading Jesus to our friends, happy days are here again.
And those days are here again, happy days are here again.
Spreading Jesus to our friends, happy days are here again.

Suddenly churches didn't care about their clothes or hair length!
The kids were just spreading Jesus all around.
Spreading His love all around.
It was the century's biggest movement of the Holy Spirit.
The Jesus Movement.

And God is doing it again.
