Album: More In Store
It's a struggle sometimes
From the day in and day out
Just to get out of bed
Raise my head from 'neath the covers
But these fears and doubts
How they assail me
Try to keep me suppressed and under their thumb
Dark shadows circle 'round my eyes
I find myself wondering why
Why You still come around
After how I've practically thrown You on the ground
With my hurtful words, and my actions that betray
But still...
You look at me with those eyes
You look at me with those eyes
You look at me with compassion and mercy
And it still comes as a big surprise
Well I've come to accept it
The way life deals me into these hands
Not like I deserve more than to fold 'em
Just pack it in
Toss my cards onto the table then
And walk away
Can't see much worth in what is staring me
Back from the mirror
But you see something clearer
You say it glitters
But all that sparkles isn't always gold
And I think that I'm the lowest of the lows
But You paid a price for me that was foretold
In the way...
You look at me with those eyes
I can't understand
Why You look at me with those eyes
Like the guilt's washed from my hands
You look at me with compassion and mercy
And it still comes as a big surprise
When You look at me with those eyes
