Album: Wanderer
Montana
I've never been to Montana
But I'd like to go
Although I have been to Colorado
And I have seen mountains
And I even climbed a few
I felt the air thin
And the wind race through my hair
And I swear I have never felt more alive
And while I don't think its the same
I'd like to think that Montana
Is a lot like Indiana
With just enough corn
To make you question the populations existence
But with views that could take your breath away
And then Again maybe it's like Ohio
And all sorts of potholes from the snow
Because at least when I trip over them
It feels familiar
That feeling of falling
And calling out every last
Hail Mary in my play book
Makes me think
That where I am
Is a lot like home
Or at least where I am now
But I've still never been to Montana
I've never even seen it in it's full glory
But I'm told that it's beautiful
That it's worth it
I know I made a lot of the mountains that I
Have climbed
And mined the valleys that I find
Myself in
But even when I cannot see the light
I still know that it exists
Even when I haven't seen it yet
You know what!
I'm just hoping Montana is like Texas
So big I could get lost in it
But just not nearly as empty
Because I've seen enough of that already
And let me tell you
It's lonely out there
And it makes it hard to believe that
Anything else exists
But I have seen it
When the map's the only thing I'm holding to
Signal that the promise land is real
And I might get lost along the way
But as long as I keep my head up
And stay north
There's something worth moving for
I am looking for something moving
Soothing
And worth it
I am still looking
For its wilderness
And praying for buried treasure
And sure I don't have the location
But the determination is still evident
In my searching
Even though I can't see the sun
The light where I'm going is
Worth the hills I had to get over
That the Feilds are open
And full of more things to fight for
And that the woods contain treasure
And beneath the leaves
And if I look hard enough
I was promised that
I could keep it
And look,
I'm not sure what it is
But I am curious
And that's something
So I will keep working
Keep driving
Staying alive long enough
To see if it's true
I've never seen Montana
But I still want to go
Because I know that
It's something worth
